The Manduca Baby and Kids Carrier has been designed in Germany by Wickelkinder GmbH where it was first available in late 2007.

Manduca allows your baby or toddler to be carried in an orthopaedically correct position, i.e. sitting position with legs spread to the side, and knees higher than hips. Most baby carriers do not accommodate this important requirement.
In the Manduca you carry your child comfortably close to your body. You can carry your child on your front or on your back. The adjustable belt puts the weight on your hips. The padded shoulder straps can be carried straight over the shoulders, like a backpack, or crossed.
All materials used for making Manduca are specially tested and controlled for harmful substances. It is made of a sturdy surface fabric made of soft canvas (hemp/organic cotton) and a soft cotton inner.
